Sunday morning service

“Stand and open up your hymn books to page 347 as we join the choir in singing, ‘I Shall not be Moved’,” bellowed the minister gravely.

This is something you probably won’t be hearing at the Shepherd’s House on a Sunday morning. Not that there is anything wrong with the hymn on page 347, but we’re not about “stand up--sit down” religion; we’re about relationship with our Living God. Instead you might hear a more contemporary Christian song, or better yet, a spontaneous one that is fresh from heaven that not even the music group knows the words to. Perhaps you’ll see a young person running around the sanctuary during the worship or maybe even an old person for that matter. You may see several people, both young and old forming a conga line. You may witness “all-out” dancing, shouting, laughing, and even those who roll on the floor at times. Some may say, “Well isn’t that somewhat irreverent?” Not really...no. The Bible is filled with instructions about how to worship God. In the Book of Psalms, you’ll find words like, “shout”, “jump”, “dance”, “wave”, and “clap”. You’ll also find sentences such as the following:

“Make a joyful shout to the Lord all you lands: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise!”
“Sing to the Lord a new song!”
“Praise Him with the trumpet!”
“Praise Him with the tambourine and dancing!”
“Praise Him with stringed instruments!”
“Praise Him on the high sounding cymbals.”
...So basically, we just praise God the way the Bible tells us to.

Our Sunday morning service is a dynamic family gathering when we passionately celebrate our utterly spectacular God with joyful expectation and expression! As we welcome the Holy Spirit to move in and among us, we eagerly await his leading to speak to our hearts and to use us to intercede and to prophetically declare his purposes in our families, our churches, our communities, and throughout the nations.

Also, the sermon may be a little different than the average 10 minute “Thou shalt not get your belly button pierced” homily you may be used to. Instead you may hear about how your heavenly Father sees you as perfect through the blood of His Son Jesus. As they say in Whales, God thinks you’re “gorgeous,” and he has an awesome destiny for your life!

Hey, so if you like the idea of praising God outrageously like the Bible tells us to, and hearing a sermon about “you shall” instead of “you shall not”, than the Shepherd’s House is the place for you. Come on in and join us at 9:30 for our Sunday morning celebration! We’d love to get to know you!

Worship and Soaking Nights “No agenda, just Jesus!”

Once a month we gather together for the sole purpose of soaking in the presence of God that we might truly hear His heartbeat. As we come into an intimate time of worshiping God in Spirit and in truth, making Him our sole focus and wholly yielding our all to Him, we will seek to see as He sees and hear from heaven so that we might effectively and prophetically speak and intercede in behalf of the divine passion of His heart! Everyone is welcome to join us. Please see upcoming events for exact dates and times.
