OUTREACH & MISSIONS
TABLE OF THE LORD
Why have the Table of the Lord listed under “outreach”? Isn’t communion a ceremony that we participate in at church either monthly, bi-weekly or weekly? What does it have to do with outreach? The Table of the Lord is an awesome gift to be used, as Jesus said, “often”, first in our personal lives, but also as a powerful “weapon of warfare” to minister to all in need. When we minister the Table of the Lord to others, we activate the victory of the Cross into people’s lives. Shouldn’t we be doing this all the time? Using the communion symbols of His body and blood with others in a simple non-religious way gives a powerful visual to anyone seeking prayer. Imagine how you would be affected if someone prayed for you that way. Could it be that as Jesus was telling us to pray for the Father’s will to be done on earth as it is in heaven, that ministering the Table of the Lord to others was what He had in mind?

WORLDWIDE MISSIONS THAT WE HELP SUPPORT
PASTORS PERCY AND PHYLLIS JEPTHA – CAPE TOWN, SOUTH AFRICA
![]() ![]() |
Pastors Percy and Phyllis are ministering to the people of South Africa through the working of signs, wonders, and miracles and are involved in a vital ministry that feeds hungry school children. This ministry is also involved in distributing hundreds of sandwiches and coffee to people waiting in in line to receive medical care at the hospital in Malawi Camp. People sometimes wait in line for weeks after they have registered to see a doctor. This is a wonderful opportunity to demonstrate God’s love and minister healing to the sick.
In addition to the other feeding programs, Pastor Percy delivers soup, soup bones, and bread, to the poverty stricken town of Malawi Camp. Many of the people of the town live under nothing more than a few pieces of wood and plastic, or tin. Pastor Percy has vision of total transformation for this community so that it will be a thriving place of life and a sign and a wonder to those around it.
At the end of June 2008, one of the schools will be closing. Through the feeding of the children in this school a door of opportunity has opened for Pastor Percy to obtain the building through a form of squatters rights in the eyes of the government. The principal of the school is working with Pastor Percy to make this prospect a reality. After making some major repairs, plans will be underway to use the building as a safe house and an orphanage.
Pastor Percy would also like to acquire the piece of property adjacent to the building to use as a community garden. Pastor Percy has already made request to the government for it. Please pray for God’s favor in this matter.
Pastors Percy and Phyllis live without many of the everyday conveniences that we in the western world so easily take for granted so that they are able to give their all for their community.

MARY ELMORE, AIM (AFRICA INLAND MISSIONS) – TANZANIA
Mary works amongst a rural tribe in Tanzania. The tribe that she works with has a long history of resistance to the Gospel. Her team lives in four rural villages. Their desire is to plant self- multiplying churches in that area.
Mary and her team have learned the tribal and national languages and dress as the locals do. Their main focus is evangelism. She is currently using the Chronological Bible Story method to reach three families. This “method” starts at the beginning and traces God’s plan of salvation through the Old Testament, and shows its fulfillment in Jesus. It builds on bridges of “common people” like Adam, Noah and Moses.
Many opportunities abound for informal evangelism as they attend weddings and funerals, visit friends, and overall participate in life in the village. Mary teaches English to students in grades 5-10 as an afterschool class, and also teaches two Bible story classes from both the Old and New Testaments. She is working to create Christian songs in the native language, which can go along with the stories. The songs serve as great spiritual- conversation-starters as well.
Mary’s goal and passion is to tell people about Jesus and help them to know Him personally. This task takes on many different forms, from visiting local farms, discussing the futility of false religion (such as the local witchdoctor’s attempt to cure a woman), to showing the Jesus film. Mary finds it exciting to see these “long-hardened people” softening to Jesus. There is still a long way to go, but God is already knocking down walls of hostility and suspicion and misunderstanding. She is looking forward to the harvest!
